The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Lagos state, Abdul Azeez Adediran aka Jandor, has spoken on the reactions that trailed his decision to pick actress, Funke Akindele as his running mate.

The said that since the announcement, Nollywood, an industry that Funke is actively part of, has been disturbingly silent about her deputy governorship role. Jandor explained in an Arise TV interview that he did not choose the movie character, Jenifa or Sulia, but he picked the actress who can brag about building her brand and being successful in her career.

The Governorship candidate also raised concerns over how the ruling party gave its ticket to actor, Desmond Elliot yet they are criticising his decision. He, however, stressed that he is more worried about the conspiracy of silence in the industry, which could have fought for one of their own.

Truth is, I don't see Funke being friends or friendly with her other nollywood colleagues, the limelight and breakthrough she got from jenifa intoxicated her with pride and she just don't bother with most nollywood activities that's why they can't be bothered with her too. Besides, she's been constantly accused of arrogance towards her workers which if true shows the real character that has put people off her.

Funke has never advocated for the masses or poor. She is more of an ambassador for big companies that pay her big. I’ve never seen her participate in any program for the average man( I may be wrong). She was silent through out the endsars. So what were you expecting. She is successful in her career not because she advocates for others but she’s an entertainer and that’s that.
