The Federal Government on Friday said it is impossible to evacuate Nigerian students right now in war-torn Sudan as any flight is at risk.
Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa disclosed this while giving update on the Sudan crisis.
Dabiri-Erewa, in tweets said the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Nigerian Mission in Sudan had put in place necessary arrangements, any flights now is gravely risky.
She said airlines on ground at the airport were all burnt today, as there is a curfew in place which meant no flights could operate.
Dabiri-Erewa said humanitarian groups were making efforts to distribute food, water, medicals, while all efforts were being put in place to hopefully get the warring parties to ceasefire.

The Sudan conflict is an ongoing armed conflict between rival factions of the military government of Sudan. It began on 15 April 2023, when clashes broke out across the country, mainly in the capital city of Khartoum and the Darfur region.
As of 21 April, at least 413 people have been killed and more than 3,500 injured.
