31-year-old Peter Ebunola was docked in Ojo Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State for reportedly assaulting a woman on Monday.
New Telegraph gathered that the Police charged the defendant with fighting in public and assault.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Mrs Esther Adesulu, the Prosecution Counsel, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 19, at the Isashi waterside area of Ojo.
She said the defendant assaulted Rashidat Olaitan using a broken bottle during an altercation.
Following the development, she said the victim was hospitalized due to the assault
The offence, she said, contravened the provisions of sections 54 and 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Magistrate D S Odukoya admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case is adjourned till July 3i for the trial.
