Friday Okeneji, a cleric, has been sentenced to two years in prison.

He was sentenced to prison by An Akure Magistrate Court for stealing chemical substances worth N130,000.

Okeneji was convicted on two counts of breaking and entering and theft by Magistrate Damilola Sekoni.

The convict was given the option of paying a N100, 000 fine by the magistrate.

Sekoni, who encouraged the convict to turn a new leaf, advised him to imbibe the true Christian characteristics of hard work and prayerfulness as exemplified by New Testament Christians in the Bible.

The convict, who pleaded guilty, explained that he had no source of income and needed to raise N150,000 for his mother’s burial in August.

The convict, a presiding pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Iwaro Oka Akoko, Ondo State, committed the crime on July 2, according to the police.

The whole country is littered with fake pastors. Every jobless person is now a pastor and brain-dead, gullible folks troop to them. What a people!
