Abductors of famous Anambra born witch doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, popular known as Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, have released him.

Gistmania gathered that the native doctor, who is popular for flaunting his wealth on social media, was released early Saturday morning.

A source said friends and well wishers are currently gathered in his palatial mansion to welcome him.

“He was released very early this morning. He is currently celebrating with his friends and well wishers in his house in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.

“His abductors demanded for N300million before he could be released, and when his friends rallied round and raised the money, the abductors demanded for additional N50million, which was also delivered to them, before he was released this morning,
” the source said.

Police authorities in Anambra confirmed the release of the native doctor.

Spokesperson for the command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said: “Yes, he has been released this morning. We are waiting to debrief him, with a view to getting his experience and clue of who the abductors are, so that we can go after them.”

When asked if he was aware that ransom was paid to his abductors for his release, Ikenga decided to keep mute.

Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, the famous native doctor, was kidnapped six days ago in his hotel.

Two of his personal security men were gunned to death, and the native doctor taken.

Many blamed his exorbitant lifestyle on social media, where he displays exotic cars, buildings and jewelry, as the reason for his kidnap.

Some other blamed him for being unable to save himself from being kidnapped, even when he has severally boasted of his powers and the potency of his charms.

Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki had in just one year, in 2022, built and launched two exotic hotels, including Triple P Hotel, where he was kidnapped on Sunday night.

He is said to be the richest native doctor in the Southeast.

Niki, these days, you are always patiently waiting for any bad news from the SE so that you can pounce. Now, Kidnapping is a SE thing, never heard of in Yoruba land. Aristo, an Igbo thing too as we are all blind to all those girls on SM. Chai, you are disgracing your exposure.

No, that is not true. Kidnapping is everywhere in the country. More prevalent in some areas than others. Going down the memory lane, which tribe started the kidnapping for ransom such that young men working hard in Lagos were afraid to go home in the late 80s to early 90s? You know them! Now, after Abacha opened the eyes of the NigerDelta people, they also started the lucrative trade through oil company workers. With emergence of BH in the north, this trade is the only way to ensure flow of cash. And the Yorubas, being opportunist that they are, why not? Kidnap and blame it on other tribes in isolated and family events. Yes, I said Igbokwenu!

If I ever heard of anything kidnapping in the SE, it must have been towards the beginning or middle of the lst decade. In the 80's and 90's and early 200's, the SE was the most peaceful part of Nigeria. I agree with you that a lot changed recently, and that the SE cannot represent anything called peaceful at the moment, but we did not start Kidnapping as business in Nigeria. That award goes to the SS region. It is no longer as bad as it used to be 3,4 or 5 years ago, but it is still at a scary level. Igbo's, they had to join after SS because they heard that good money is involved and you know we chase money wherever, a good and bad trait.
