The Nigerian Army has rescued another Chibok girl, Mary Nkeki, in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Theater Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Maj. Gen. Gold Chibuisi, disclosed this to newsmen on Monday, August 21, 2023, at the headquarters Theatre Command Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri during the handover of the girl to the Borno Ministry of Women Affairs.

Chibuisi said Nkeki was rescued on August 14, 2023 along with her repentant insurgent husband identified as Adam, by troops of 81 Task Force Battalion, Operation Hadin Kai at Dikwa during operation into the terrorists’ enclave.

“She is on serial number 55 of the abducted Chibok girl list. Now 27 years old. Kibaku by tribe. While in captivity, she was forcefully married to one Adam, a Boko Haram terrorist," he stated.

"Since her rescue, she has undergone thorough medical examination in our medical facility. Equally she has been adequately resuscitated and will be handed over to Borno state,” he added.

Chibuisi assured the commitment of the military to contain security in the north east and restore lasting peace in the region.

Speaking to newsmen on her experience since abduction, Mary said it was full of sufferings.

Mary said she gave birth to two female children for Adam, who are all deceased.

She said she and her husband, Adam, repented from insurgency and fled the terrorists enclave at the Dikwa axis, and reached a point where the troops rescued both of them.

However, since their rescue, she was separated from Adam, who was taken to the repentant insurgents camp.

According to her, she left behind two other Chibok girls.

Mary was abducted alongside over 200 students from the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, by Boko Haram terrorists in 2014.

She is the 16th girl rescued by troops in recent months.

Go in there, rescue the remaining girls and stop taking photographs whenever any of the girls escapes from the terrorists.

They’ve destroyed her life, and the government is paying them to do it. Sad.

One minute we hear that hundreds of Boko Haram fighters are surrendering the next minute our soldiers who are scared of entering the sambisa forests are seen posing for pictures with a chibok girl who by herself escaped from the terrorists. Who is deceiving who?
