Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, says the strike action by the organised labour over the brutalisation of Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, is justifiable.

The NLC and the Trade Union of Nigeria, TUC, had declared a nationwide strike to protest the incident that occurred in Owerri, the Imo State capital, last week, where the NLC president was physically assaulted by suspected political thugs.

Reacting, Shehu Sani, in a post on his official X handle, supported the decision of the organised labour, saying the strike action would send clear messages to those behind the attack on Ajaero.

Sani believes that the strike action will convey a clear message to those responsible for the attack on Ajaero.

His post reads, “No responsible trade union will fold its arms and see its leaders brutalised without a massive response.

“The strike action will send a clear message to those who want to toe this path. Using political thugs to disrupt protests and maltreat protesters is unacceptable; Abuja EndSARS organisers can remember how they were attacked at CBN Headquarters.”

Am with you on this. Thuggery  should have no place in governance. Intimidation and harassment has become a norm in our countries, but Nigeria is at the forefront in this despicable practice. It took Tinubu few seconds to approve the  wanton waste of state resource on his legislatures  for SUVS that should have  been bought in the new Nigerian assembly plant- the most sensible thing any government in the world could do. Unfortunately for the fools who voted  for him,  their welfare is not a priority  and  they all can go to hell if not satisfied with the  pennies he had suggested  to cushion their livelihoods.  The  two most urgent  policy matters that any enlightened and patriotic leader must have dealt with  are  the SECURITY SITUATION and  NATIONAL LIVING WAGES DILEMMA. No rather Asiwaju and his caboodle elected to  first satisfy the judiciary with a bumper harvest ( and this happened whilst the Supreme court was in session over the election petition ) and  the destructive decision to compensate  the legislatures and others with foreign cars for  towing his line of lies and thieving. Nigeria is a sorry state with very sorry  minded folks who see everything  about political leadership from tribal and regional perspectives. Even Soyinka has been  enlisted. Malam Sheku God bless you and shall always guide and protect you.
