Well, in  d context of boosting the economy, 'Yes' but on d contrary, our government are not doing enough with what is at their disposal. I think the govt. should do better with our natural resources then we can see how far there have gone b4 looking on churches and mosques to pay tax. I think its just another means to enrich their pockets.

@ inmex .WITH DUE RESPECT SIR. RE-READ THE TOPIC. I THINK THERE IS A DIFFERENT BETWEEN A PASTOR AND A CHUCRH...A PASTOR IS A MEMBER OF THE CHUCH JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER PERSON WHO CONSTITUTES A CHURCH. BEING A PASTOR DOES NOT IN ANY WAY DENIES ONE HIS OR HER CIVIC RESPONSIBILTIES. IN AS MUCH AS A PASTOR MOVES HIS CAR ON THE GOVT ROAD, ENJOYS ELECTICITY FROM GOVT, AND EVERY OTHER BENEFITS., AND IF HE PAYS HIS TITHES AND OFFERINGS TO GOD FOR SPIRITUAL BLESSING , HE SHUD ALSO PAY HIS TAX TO GOVT FOR HIS SOCIAL WELBEING. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW ,... FOR LAW IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSON .IF HE DOES NOT RESPECT THE LAW THE THAT GOVERNS THE SOCIETY IN WHICH HIS CHURCH PLANTED, HOW WILL HE ABLE TO IMPACT HIS FOLLOWERS REGARDING  COMPLETE OBIDIENCE. HE SHUD LEAD BY EXAMPLE

as an individual they should pay tax which i am very sure that they pay but as a church they were exempted from co perate taxes. get my coments right.

In Nigeria church has become very highly lucrative big business and the pastors do not shy away from flaunting their dubious riches. Such pastors should contribute here on earth because by the time they reach hell, they are beyond the reach of common man.

What of mosque?Huh??
yes ke both should pay becos after all they are also collecting tithe-idamewa from church members and owo adura-prayer money from mosque or muslims @ occasion, and since most of the churches or mosques refuse 2 help the society voluntarily unles government repares the road leading to the area of their churches or mosques they wont do it,so they should also pay as taxes then, becos afterall even in europe some of the churches do pay taxes as well so why not in nigeria now.

How did you arrived at that? How did you get the information that mosques collects money from the worshipers like churches do? That is a lie. Mosques does not tax or charge a single penny per worshiper payable periodically (weekly, monthly or any fixed time). Nobody will charge you any kobo before, during or after the worship. One may spend his entire life woshiping in the mosque without anybody asking him to pay so-so amount of money. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said in the hadith that "Actions shall be judged according to intention". That means that if you are forced to pay that amount of money, no reward will come to you for you did not intend to give that amount (LA IQRAHA FIDDEEN). So nobody will force you to give him money. The most interesting thing about this is, so many times, a singile person used to undertake taking the responsibility of repairing/maintenance of the mosque....ALHAMDU LILLAH!
