A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, on Monday raised the alarm over plans by mischief makers to pitch him against ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo.

He was reacting to comments allegedly posted on his facebook account, which made reference to Obasanjo, late President Umaru Yar’adua, Dr. Andy Uba, and Alhaji Ibrahim Turaki and published in the media titled: “Dirty details of Obasanjo’s Presidency’.

The former presidential spokesperson was said to have in the posting on the Facebook, accused some people of involvement in “dirty deals” in the Villa during Obasanjo’s regime.

He was said to have described some persons as “sniffing knickers” who were notorious for “supplying young girls to the President.”

Fani-Kayode, in a statement in Abuja, said the comments did not emanate from him but attributed it to “the work of some unscrupulous hackers on the internet,” who hacked into his facebook account.

He said, “I wish to assure members of the public that at no time did I accuse anyone in government of doing any “dirty deals” in the villa or of stealing any money during President Obasanjo’s tenure, neither did I accuse anyone of “sniffing knickers” or of “supplying young girls to the President”.

“Such things never happened under the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo and to say that they did is, to say the least, scandalous and shameful. I wish to also point out that I did not refer to the late President Umaru Yar’adua as an “accursed” President and I continue to hold him and his family in the highest esteem.”

According to him, the comments by “faceless hackers” were perpetrated to embarrass him and his family and bring Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and his government, which he proudly served and defended for four years, into public ridicule, opprobrium and contempt.

He said, “They were also designed to destroy the excellent personal relationship that I have had the privilege of enjoying with President Obasanjo for the past 12 years, which is a father-son relationship that I deeply cherish.

“In view of this terrible experience and incident may I urge all media practitioners and houses to please confirm the contents of anything that they read on Facebook with the owner of the page before going to press with it in order to avoid such an embarrassing situation in the future.

“He offered apologies to President Obasanjo and his family for any embarrassment the write-up might have caused them, saying “Until the day that I die, I shall remain loyal to President Olusegun Obasanjo and I shall be grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to serve my country.”
