The family of Pastor Friday Ataine Orerokpe from Okpe Local Government Area in Delta State is demanding justice following the sudden death of their son at Ariemughare Clinic and Maternity in Orerokpe on January 22, 2024.

According to reports, the 49-year-old asthmatic patient passed away after receiving injections administered by Nurses Anna Ikomu and Faith Odiete. The family alleges that the injections, Aminophiline and Hydrocot, led to his demise.

A family member recounted the harrowing experience, stating that Pastor Ataine and his wife, Ese, sought medical attention after he complained of asthma symptoms. However, the nurses reportedly disregarded his condition and administered injections, resulting in distressing symptoms and eventual loss of consciousness.

Despite frantic pleas for help, the nurses allegedly refused further assistance, prompting the family to rush the pastor to other hospitals where he was declared dead on arrival. The family expressed frustration over the alleged negligence and urged authorities to intervene.

They called for the arrest of Dr. Ariemughare Michael, the owner of the clinic, and demanded a thorough investigation into the incident. Concerns were raised about the clinic's purported plans to sell, potentially obstructing the pursuit of justice.

Efforts to reach the Delta State police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.

The family implored relevant authorities to prevent the sale of the clinic and ensure accountability for Pastor Ataine's untimely demise.
