Adamawa State Police Apprehend Car Theft Suspect, Ibrahim Ali During Eid el-Fitr Festivities

In a significant breakthrough during the Eid el-Fitr celebrations, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Ibrahim Ali for allegedly stealing a Toyota Starlet car in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area of the state. The apprehension came as a result of diligent stop and search operations conducted by police operatives attached to the Ngurore Divisional Headquarters.

According to SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, spokesperson for the command, the suspect, Ibrahim Ali, was intercepted by police officers on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, during routine stop and search activities.

"On the 10th of April, 2024, the Command Operatives stationed at Ngurore Divisional Headquarters, while carrying out routine stop and search operations as part of the Sallah Celebrations, apprehended one Ibrahim Ali in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle with Number plate JMT 317 RY," the statement from SP Nguroje read.

Upon interrogation, Ibrahim Ali reportedly confessed to stealing the vehicle from Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area. The successful apprehension of the suspect underscores the commitment of the Adamawa State Police Command to maintaining law and order, particularly during festive periods when criminal activities tend to rise.

"The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), calls on members of the public, particularly anyone whose vehicle was stolen, to come forward and report to Ngurore Divisional Police Headquarters with proof to claim ownership," the statement further urged.

The swift action by the police in apprehending Ibrahim Ali and recovering the stolen vehicle serves as a deterrent to would-be criminals and reinforces the importance of community collaboration in combating crime.

As the investigation into the case continues, the Adamawa State Police Command remains resolute in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents across the state.
