In a significant breakthrough, the Nasarawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of an alleged armed robbery suspect, identified as David Samuel, in the Kabayi area.
The arrest, carried out by operatives attached to Mararaba 'A' Division, occurred on Saturday following proactive measures based on credible intelligence.
According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the State Police Public Relations Officer, the suspect, believed to be responsible for a spate of armed robbery incidents in Kabayi, Aso Pada, and Mararaba, was apprehended during a stop-and-search operation conducted by the vigilant police operatives.
"The effort paid off when the suspect named David Samuel 'M' 26yrs of Aso Pada was sighted by the Eagle-eye operatives and was arrested; where one locally fabricated Barretta Pistol and one live ammunition were recovered from him as exhibit," stated Nansel.
He further disclosed that the suspect is currently in custody and has provided valuable information during interrogation. The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend other members of the syndicate involved in criminal activities in the area.
The swift action by law enforcement authorities underscores the commitment of the Nasarawa State Police Command to combatting crime and ensuring the safety and security of residents in the region.
