
In a devastating turn of events, a young Nigerian electrician identified as Austine met his untimely demise after being electrocuted while on duty at a wine bar in Rivers State.
The fatal incident occurred on Wednesday at a well-known wine bar situated in the Rumuekini Community, within the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, Austine, originally from Kogi State, was in the process of rectifying an electrical fault within the premises of the wine bar when the tragedy struck.
Witnesses recounted how panic gripped the staff members of the establishment as news of the incident spread rapidly.
Prompt response from the management saw them alerting the Choba Police Division, who swiftly dispatched officers to the scene.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers retrieved the lifeless body of the victim and conducted an initial assessment of the site.
Confirming the unfortunate event, Mrs. Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police and the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, expressed the police's involvement in the matter.
Mrs. Iringe-Koko stated, "Yes, I can confirm the incident. Police officers from Choba Police have visited the scene for preliminary investigation and further investigation is still on. The corpse of the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary."
