he Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has successfully apprehended a gang of kidnappers implicated in the abduction and subsequent murder of Comrade Daniel Umaru Lagi. Lagi was the father of Barrister Innocent Lagi, a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

In a statement released on Saturday, Commandant Ismaila Abdullahi revealed that the suspects were arrested during a coordinated sting operation. This operation was conducted in partnership with the troops of the Nigerian Army's Operation Whirl Stroke.

Abdullahi confirmed that the arrested individuals have confessed to their involvement in the crime. He assured that they will face prosecution following the completion of the ongoing investigation.

The tragic incident, which also claimed the life of the father of Professor Theophilus Lagi, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), unfolded in late May.
