Ebebi had gone to court to challenge his impeachment in June 2010 by the state House of Assembly.
The three-man panel of judges quashed the initial order by the Yenagoa High Court, which upheld Ebebi’s impeachment, describing the court as lacking the jurisdiction to entertain the matter.
In his lead judgment, Justice Dantijo Mohammed said the decision of the House of Assembly to set up an impeachment committee was a contempt of the court.
The court also ordered the payment of Ebebi’s entitlements while he was out of office.
