A tragic incident occurred on August 20, when 29-year-old Alexander Fleming attacked his aunt, Juanita Dallas, during a heated argument at her home in Jamaica, Queens.
The argument escalated, and Fleming allegedly struck Dallas in the head with a broom, causing severe injuries.
Dallas was taken to North Shore University Hospital, but despite efforts to save her, she sadly passed away from her injuries.
Fleming was arrested later in the evening and charged with murder: depraved indifference, assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
He has 10 prior arrests, according to law enforcement sources, though details on those were not immediately known.
