Ogun Police Arrest Two Suspects For Allegedly Killing Driver

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, have arrested two suspects for allegedly involving in the death of a car driver in Abeokuta area, after a fight.

It was gathered that the incident happened on the 7th of December, 2024 at Iyana Ikereku Community.

According to a witness, identified as Mr. Olalere Timileyim, a resident of the area, told security agents that he observed a truck driver and his motor boy, physically assaulting the deceased, for allegedly stealing their tarpaulin.

This was contained in a statement by Spokesperson of the State Police command, Omolola Odutola, on Sunday.

She said:

“On December 13, 2024, around 3:00 AM, Alao Fadipe, a resident of Iyana Ikereku, reported that at about 2:00 AM, he witnessed individuals fighting near the roadside in front of his house.

“Upon arriving at the scene, he observed Olalere Timileyin, a truck driver, and his motor-boy, both associated with Larfage Cement Itori Ewekoro, physically assaulting a man whom they accused of stealing their tarpaulin until he lost consciousness.

“Acting on the complaint, detectives from Obada Oko responded and arrested the driver and his motor-boy at the location.

“The injured man was promptly taken to State Hospital Ijaye for medical care but sadly passed away during treatment.
