A speeding vehicle fatally struck a 43-year-old pedestrian on Sunday evening Dec. 29, along the Oremeji Bus Stop corridor of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Ogun State Police Command disclosed on Monday, Dec. 30, that the driver, whose identity remains unknown, hit the pedestrian at approximately 6:45 p.m.
The deceased, identified as Lookman Raji, a resident of Toyin Oremeji Street, Ibafo, was attempting to cross the expressway when the speeding vehicle ploughed into him, killing him on the spot.
Investigations are ongoing and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the fleeing driver.
The body of the deceased has been transported to Real Divine Touch Hospital in Ibafo after being identified by the family.
