The Kano State Censorship Board has issued a one-year suspension for renowned Kannywood actress, Samha M. Inuwa, barring her from participating in any film productions. The decision follows widespread public outcry concerning her attire and provocative online behavior.

A statement released by Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, the board’s Information Officer, confirmed that the actress's actions had raised concerns due to her “revealing dress and provocative videos” shared on social media. The board explained that multiple prior warnings about her "crude dressing, vulgar displays, and inappropriate language" were ignored, prompting the disciplinary action.

The board emphasized that the actress’s conduct violated the cultural and moral guidelines set for media representation in the state. As part of the suspension, her acting license has been revoked, and the board will no longer be responsible for censoring any films in which she appears.

“The Kano State Censorship Board is committed to ensuring that all media expressions align with the religious, cultural, and moral values of the state,” the statement concluded.

The suspension serves as a significant move to reinforce the state’s standards for public decency in entertainment.
