A Nigerian POS agent recently took to social media to share a shocking experience involving a fraudulent ₦70,000 withdrawal that initially went unnoticed, despite the transaction appearing approved on her machine.
In a post that quickly gained traction on X (formerly Twitter), the agent recounted how two customers approached her for assistance with checking their account balances. After confirming their details, one customer requested to withdraw ₦70,000, a transaction she processed and handed over the requested funds.
However, after the customers left, the agent noticed that the ₦70,000 was not reflected in her POS machine's balance, even though the transaction appeared to be approved on her end. Alarmed and unsure of what had happened, she turned to her brother for advice.
Determined to recover the funds, the agent immediately left her shop and tracked down the customer at a different location. After confronting the individual, her persistence led to the return of the full ₦70,000.
