The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has implemented an adjustment in petrol prices at its retail outlets, citing shifts in crude oil prices as the primary factor.

In Lagos, the pump price of petrol has risen from ₦925 to ₦960 per litre, while in Abuja, prices have moved from ₦965 to ₦990 per litre. The latest hike places NNPC’s pricing slightly above that of the Dangote Refinery, which offers petrol at ₦955 per litre.

This adjustment comes at a time when global crude oil prices have experienced a marginal decline, raising concerns about the ripple effects on fuel affordability for Nigerians.

NNPC’s decision reflects the ongoing volatility in the global energy market, and its impact on local fuel prices is being closely monitored by consumers and industry stakeholders. The increase has sparked conversations about the rising cost of living and the need for further government interventions to stabilize fuel prices.
