Attitude’ is one of two title tracks for ‘IVE Empathy’, the other being the song ‘Rebel Heart’, which was released last month. Wonyoung is credited as a co-lyricist on ‘Attitude’, alongside frequent IVE collaborator Seo Ji-eum.
The song also notably samples Suzanne Vega’s ‘Tom’s Diner’.We have focused on the theme of self-love so far, but this time, we took a leap forward by talking about empathy, so that we can connect with people across various generations, eras, and perspectives,” Wonyoung said of ‘IVE Empathy’ during a press conference for its release.
The other songs on ‘IVE Empathy’ are ‘Flu’, ‘Thank U’, ‘TKO’ and ‘You Wanna Cry’, the last of which interpolates Whitney Houston‘s seminal hit ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’.
‘IVE Empathy’ marks IVE’s first body of work in nine months.
