A Nigerian man identified as Richard could not contain his joy as he danced his way home after regaining his freedom following nearly three decades behind bars.
Richard, who spent 29 years, 8 months, and 3 days in prison, expressed gratitude to God for his release. While he did not disclose the offense that led to his incarceration, he shared his struggles with prison life, lamenting the dire conditions faced by inmates.
According to him, the facility he was held in, which was originally built to accommodate 800 people, had swelled to a staggering 79,000 prisoners.
Overwhelmed by his newfound freedom, Richard broke into a jubilant dance, celebrating the long-awaited opportunity to reunite with his loved ones. His story has since resonated with many, shedding light on the harsh realities of Nigeria’s prison system.
