A housewife, Mrs. Funke Oyediwura, has told an Osogbo Customary Court that her husband, Obawole Oyediwura, impregnated his boss’ sister.
Urging the court to dissolve their 16-year-old marriage, on Tuesday, Funke debunked her husband’s claim that both of them were legally married.
According to her, peace has departed their home since Obawole impregnated his boss’ sister, adding that her husband beat up her mother and stripped her father naked.
She denied Obawole’s claim that her father smashed a bottle on his head.
Funke said they separated in 2009 when Obawole failed to cater for her and their four children.
Denying the claims, Obawole, who confirmed impregnating his boss’ sister, said that he never reneged on his marital responsibilities.
He also said that he never assaulted his in-laws as claimed by his wife, stressing that the marriage between him and his wife was contracted at the Christ Apostolic Church, Latona, Osogbo, Osun State.
“It is true that I impregnated my boss’ sister but I didn’t assault my in-laws. In my little capacity, I used to take care of my children,” he added.
Obawole claimed that his wife seized the marriage certificate issued by the church along with the video and pictures of the marriage in other to facilitate her claim for divorce.
“Since my wife discovered that another woman is pregnant for me, she has been going out with another man and bleaching her skin in a bid to avenge my impregnating my boss’ sister,” he said.
Upon being questioned by the President of the court, Chief Bolarinwa Popoola, Funke later confessed that their marriage was contracted at the Christ Apostolic Church in Latona area of Osogbo,
Popoola struck out the case on the grounds that his court lacked the jurisdiction to dissolve any marriage legally contracted.
