Olatoye’s Personal Assistant, identified simply as Damola, was however unlucky as he was reportedly shot dead. He was aged 33.
Spokesman of the state police command, Mr. Tunji Ajimuda, confirmed the incident.
Olatoye’s elder brother, Jide, told journalists in Ibadan on Wednesday that the armed men had made about seven attempts on the life of his brother without the police making any arrest.
He alleged that the Tuesday attack lasted for about three hours during which there was sporadic shooting in the area.
He also claimed that the armed men arrived the scene in more than 20 vehicles.
He said that they had petitioned the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 11, Osogbo, Osun state.
Meanwhile, Oyo State Head of Service, Alhaja Risikat Adeleke, on Wednesday led permanent secretaries, directors and other top civil servants in the state to pay a solidarity visit to the state governor-elect, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, in his Oluyole Estate, Ibadan, residence.
During the visit, Adeleke pledged the support and loyalty of civil servants in the state to the incoming administration.
She promised that civil servants in the state would work in tandem with the objectives of the governor-elect in order to develop the state.
“We are ready to give you all the necessary supports to make your administration deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state,” she vowed.
Ajimobi, on his part, thanked the civil servants for their show of solidarity and support.
He sought their cooperation in the task of moving the state forward.
He said, “I thank you for your thoughtfulness for coming to felicitate with me and pledge your support.
“I want you to see me as your brother and let us work together as a team. I will always seek your advice and suggestions in order to move the state forward.”
The governor-elect also used the opportunity to dispel rumours of any downsizing of the state’s civil service.
“Nobody should exercise any fear. We should just try to be professional in our dealings. We need to encourage professionalism and I will be ready to listen to you to convince me about what is right and wrong,” he added.
