Can you remain virgin untill you get married?

I have traveled to two Arab country to represent my company for job related issues but i can’t still believe my eye, a situation whereby virgins are considered as serious issues in times of marriage in Arab countries ,  I mean I can’t believe that a woman will remain virgin until she got married in respective of their close relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend, one faithful day I was invited for a Muslim marriage ceremony, when I got there as a Christian I just sat down in a particular place while watching their dancing and after 30 minute or so, all I could hear was a joyful noise from the both parents coming out from a particular house which was set-aside for the man to prove virginities of the girl before joining them together, and when I look at the hands of the i was pure white handkerchief with blood stains, when I ask the meaning of that they said  that their traditions demand that that the girl have prove her virginity, so the her parent and her relatives where all dancing shouting that their daughter has made them proud.

Yes I am still a virgin and I will like to maintain it until marriage, and I also will like to marry a virgin. For that reason I have decided to marry from Arab country.
