I think the issues for the mass failures run deeper than just being plugged into technology.  I would bet that family life stress, social instability, lack of  reliable electricity to allow for studies and use of equipment, lack of good instructors and up to standards institutions all play a roll in this outcome.  We were all teens and interested in teenage things, so blaming the kids for being teens is a tad bit unfair.   I hope the powers that be look at these results and put plans in place  in all areas that are needed to effect change.

I don't think lowering the quality of exam or marking schem will help us,thou the mass failure will be reduced
