VICE Chancellor, Federal University of Dutse in Jigawa State, Prof. Jibrila Amin, has said the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had outlived its relevance.

He said going by the fact that JAMB had progressively deteriorated in efficiency over the years, the post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) had become inevitable.

Amin said in his office in Dutse that JAMB had become worse because the number of candidates sitting for its examination had progressively increased beyond its capacity since 1978 when it was established.

He explained that the board was conceived to create opportunity for a uniform entry examination in a joint manner to prevent different universities from conducting their separate examinations, making it cumbersome for candidates.

This prof is talking trash. the universities are just envious of J.A.M.B bcos of the money.

Every system is operated by people and if the system malfunctions, the people managing
it should either undergo more training or simply be replaced.

The excuse that people who can't even spell their names score very high in J.A.M.B is no longer valid
bcos some graduates with 2nd Class Upper too can't even make correct sentences. So, tell me which is worse?- the Universities.

Moreover, the J.A.M.B is made up of academicians from the university community. So, what actually is this prof. talking about?

The whole education system is down, from primary to university level and we are here talking about an ordinary entrance exams.

 God of mercy, have mercy!

JAMB is suppose to be the primary filter to the university. what happens when it cannot meet it standard.

Pls, tell me any one thing that functions properly in Nigeria apart from corruption?... those managing the education system are visionless and inept.

J AMB has being there for decades and the board has actually lost its objection though i do not believe in writting  itoff totally
why not the competition continue with UTMB, SO any one can decide on which board to go for the exam,
talking about inrelevant, then he must be making a huge mistake cos nothing in nigeria is relevant afterall
