One person has been reportedly killed and many others injured following an early morning downpour in Lagos.
The victim whose identity could not be ascertained as at press time was said to have been killed when a telecoms mast tore away from its cement base and struck him in the head around Gordon Barracks.
According to an eye witness, the victim was corporately dressed , adding, he may be on his way to one of the many offices on Lagos Island.
However, reports from across Lagos said many people were injured and property worth millions of naira destroyed, as a result of the torrential rain as many Lagosians who were already on their way to work scampered to safety.
On Third Mainland Bridge, electric poles, bill boards and street lights fell on the road thereby compounding the traffic situation on the bridge.
