2. The person you see first in the morning determines how ur day will be.
3. you fall sick, become poor becos u do not pay tithe.
4. that is you put ur hand on the ground while eating that u can never be full.

i understand the poster, his Nigerian boyfriend is trying to teach her the custom and tradition. Well that is Fine and i like the way you wish to learn

Well Poster, Nigerian is very large with different culture and traditions so it depends on the part where your lover is from. for instance some tribe in nigeria which i will not mention call there Dad and Mum by their first name like the westerners which is a norms within their society which some considered as a taboo or moore.

Some among your listed are right, some are not reall and some are supersition and some are mostly used to scold the young ones in other to desist them from certain habit for example:

GREETING SOMEONE WITH LEFT HAND MEANS YOU NO GET RESPECT... your person opinion
THE FIRST PERSON YOU SEE DETERMINES YOUR DAY  THAT ONE NA LIE
PUTTING HAND ON GROUND WHILE EATING MEAN YOU WOULDNT BE FULL....... BI SEY THE FOOD NO PLENTY  RICH....(supersition) etc

Hope this help!
