Inspector Adabo Mohammed has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for his involvement in criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, and corrupt practices, according to a statement released by police spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi.

Inspector Mohammed, along with five accomplices, was part of an armed robbery gang responsible for the theft of N29.8 million from a victim in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and the kidnapping of Ikechukwu Emmanuel Okafor in Tunga Manje, for which they extorted a ransom of N4.4 million. “The ex-officer has been charged to court accordingly,” Adejobi stated, reaffirming the Force’s commitment to professionalism and integrity.

Additionally, three other officers have been demoted for various offenses. Inspectors Osagie Efford, Semiu Agbekin, and Francis Ahuen, all attached to the Special Tactical Squad (STS), were reduced in rank to Sergeant for extorting N29.4 million from motorists in Abuja. The trio intercepted an unregistered Mercedes Benz in Gwarinpa and coerced the occupants into handing over the money.

“These actions reflect the Force’s resolve to reform the police,” Adejobi emphasized. “These reforms aim to strengthen internal oversight mechanisms, enhance training programs focused on ethics and community policing, and improve transparency in disciplinary procedures.”

The NPF’s measures underscore their dedication to maintaining ethical standards and reinforcing trust within the community.
