 You know what it is the father's fault, HE NEGLECTED TO TEACH HIS childern THEIR TRIBAL TRADITIONS, INSTEAD OF AMERICAN CULTURAL ONES. FIRST OF ALL THE FATHER DOES NOT HAVE TO ASK ANYONE BUT HIMSELF AND HIS KINSMEN(NOT HIS CHILDREN) IF HE PLANS TO TAKE ANOTHER WIFE. IT IS A NORMAL THING  THAT CHILDREN DO FOR THEIR AGING PARENTS WHEN THEY THEMSELVES CANNOT ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF THEM, THEY MARRY THEM A YOUNG WIFE TO TAKE CARE OF THEM, ITS AN AGE OLD IGBO CUSTOM. INFACT BY CULTURAL CUSTOMS, IT  IS HIS SONS DUTY TO MARRY HIM A SECOND WIFE IF HE ASKES, ITS NOT AS IF HIS MOTHER IS STILL ALIVE TO OBJECT TO A SECOND WIFE. THIS IS JUST SHAMEFUL AND IT SHOWS HOW WE ARE LOSING OUR TRADITIONS AND CULTURE TO STUPID WESTERN IDEALS.  WHAT A STUPID  DISGRACE FOR A CHILD, ESPECIALLY TAKING HIS FATHER TO COURT, THAT RUBBISH IF IT COMES DOWN TO IT, IS EVEN SUPPOSE TO BE SETTLED AMONGST THE ELDERS OF THEIR FAMILY OR VILLAGE, NOT A COURT. You re very correct. Do they expect d old man to wash his cloths, cook his food & take care of d compound by himself? If d children had care abt their father it could nt av lead to all dis. So, they shld leave d father alone.
