According to the Wigan of England sensational player, "I have alot of matches to play for my country Nigeria. I was fully overwhelmed,playing in front of my countrymen and women wearing the green white green colour of Nigeria for the first time. I was over excited, I appealed for understanding and a little patient, I would surely do well for Nigeria. I would put smiles on the faces. I love their support, and will be ready to do everything humanly possible to ensure that they smile. I want to tell them that I have many more matches to play for them ".
He said that they have no excuse whatsoever not to have scored as many goals as possible, but promised that they would make up for that in subsequent matches.
