The father - Misheck Musa (40), had decided to graze on his son's patch it would seem! Misheck, who is reported to be on the run after the villagers took the case to Melfort police base, allegedly persistently asked for sex from his daughter-in-law. She in turn informed her husband and their step-mother-in-law that the man of the house was up to mischief.
The trio agreed to set up a trap where the daughter-in-law (name withheld) would finally give in and let the father-in-law enter her bedroom. The plan was that she would then beep her husband and step-mother-in-law who would then 'catch him in the bedroom' but BEFORE the act! Sadly, things nearly did not go according to plan.
After being beeped, the two delayed and by the time they entered the bedroom the man was almost making a huge segxwal meal of his daughter-in-law. The crack rapid response team had reacted slowly! The woman is reported to have shouted MANDIREGERERA (you let me down) after her husband and his friends and step mother-in-law arrived late. Misheck is reported to have proposed to the woman assuring her that he was going to divorce his wife and take her as his new wife. The woman informed her mother-in-law and husband before a cellphone conversation was recorded for evidence. A trap was then set for Misheck.
The village head, after being informed about the case by his committee, gave a 24-hour notice for Misheck and his family to vacate the village. Misheck ADMITTED that he made several segxwal advances towards his daughter-in-law. The woman said Misheck apologised to her before he promised to pay her a goat to atone for his offence.
"My father-in-law first approached me saying he is planning to marry me after divorcing Amai and I did not reply him. I left the house and visited our neighbour. I spent the whole day there because Amai had gone to a show while my husband was at work. After Amai came bnack I informed her first before taking the matter to my husband and we agreed to monitor his moves on me. He would utter words of admiring me whenever he met me alone in the field or fetching water by the well. After a trap, he was caught by my husband and mummy trying to force himself on me. He then apologised and promised to pay me a goat and a hen," the woman said.
While the step mother-in-law confirmed the incident, she however, rubbished allegations circulating in the village that Misheck had actually bedded his daughter-in-law.
"At first I asked my husband and he denied before he later disclosed that he made several segxwal advances on our daughter-in-law. It is not true that we caught him in the act. He was just in the room in his shorts. We held a family meeting and Misheck apologised and promised to pay Isabel. We are waiting for Misheck's mother to give final decision. The villagers took the issue to the head and we were ordered to leave the village within 24 hours. I pleaded with the village head and some of the villagers took the case to Melfort police post," she said.
Misheck blamed evil spirits that hound him. He refused to meet the village committee and started hiding. We could not get a comment from him as he was said to have gone to Harare to meet his relatives over the story. The father and the son's mobile phones were all unreachable.
