The Enugu State Police Command on Friday said its officers had commenced an investigation in a bid to know those who bathed a female sex worker with acid in Enugu.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday that the victim, who was bathed with acid on August 7, was recuperating at the Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu. Amaraizu said the victim, who was identified as a commercial sex worker, was reportedly hanging out around Artisan Market, Independence Layout, Enugu. He said the incident occurred along Ozubulu Street, Independence Layout and was carried out by an unidentified man that used to patronise her as a commercial sex worker.
