Among many other points of argument, Okupe had censured opposition parties for their ceaseless condemnation of the federal government’s response to Boko Haram-instituted acts of terrorism, saying all opposition parties, in the spirit of patriotism to the country, ought to come forward with ideas on how to tackle the menace.
And El-Rufai, former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, was one of those who responded to Okupe, branding his utterances as testament to the government’s lack of ideas.
However, in a release signed by Olusanya Awosan, media director at the office of the senior special assistant to the president on public affairs, the Federal Government countered El-Rufai’s arguments, listing series of achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan in more than a year in office.
