According to latest reports from Italy, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is considering a swap deal with AC Milan. The rumours suggest Wenger is willing to offer forward Nicklas Bendtner for Milan defender Philippe Mexes.

Bendtner is out of favour at the Emirates and Wenger has finally decided to bid farewell to the Danish striker, who played on loan for Sunderland last season.

At Sunderland, Bendtner played in 31 games, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.

Bendtner had expressed his desire to move out of Arsenal a couple of years ago. The Denmark international reckons he is not being provided with enough exposure at the Gunners.

If Arsenal manage to sign Mexes from the swap deal with AC Milan for Nicklas Bendtner, it would be a great bargain for the London club.

Although the French center-back is not listed among the best defenders in the world, the veteran has loads of experience in top level football.

Mexes has been training on his own in Milan after abandoning his team during a pre-season tour of United States because of his pregnant wife.

Moreover, Didier Deschamps, the national coach of France, believes Mexes’ future with Milan will end this summer. In a recent interview, Deschamps told reporters that he saw Mexes moving away from the Serie A.

“I know Philippe well and he is part of the wider France squad,” Deschamps said
