The Joint Task Force, JTF, on Sunday night arrested 156 suspected members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect in a raid on their main hide out in Yelwa area, near Shagari Low Cost, in Mubi, Adamawa.
Five women and six children were rescued from the hideout, a member of the sect was killed and several others injured.
The Commander of the 23rd Armored Brigade, Nigerian Army Yola, Brigadier General John Nwaoga told newsmen that the operation was sequel to the recent clandestine activities and destruction of GSM masts in Mubi by the suspected terrorists.
Nwaoga said the raid has really helped the military intelligence to unravel the mystery behind the protracted wave of shooting and bomb attacks in Mubi Town.
Some of the items recovered from the hideout were machine gun, improved explosive device, chemicals, nine AK-47 assault riffles, 19 magazines, locally made pistols, cutlasses, bullets, about 1,000 dagger knives and rocket launchers.
“Based on intelligence report, a combined team of the JTF isolated the area, cordoned it and made sure that innocent and law abiding citizens were not hurt” Brigadier General Nwaoga stated.
However, the Brigade Commander said the operating is “sweeping” and assured that those arrested will be decisively screamed in other to free innocent ones.
Nwaoga however expressed dismay over what he described as “non-cooperative attitude’ of people in relation to the fight against terrorism.
He therefore called on traditional rulers, village heads, and residents to report to security agents unidentified persons residing in their midst.
“By availing to us of useful information, concerning unknown faces and suspicious movements in their midst, we assured that; we will act rapidly to clear out terrorists amongst us” Nwaoga assured.
Meanwhile, a 24-hour curfew has been imposed on Mubi North Local Government Area, following incessant killing of innocent people.
Common sense is indeed not common.

Da furk? This is getting unbelievable. The ones caught, wha have you guys done with em? They claimed they r apprehending them, but Nuttin is been heard of from the ones arrested. Abeg make una park well
