Senator Aloysius Etok, whom, Gov. Akpabio of Akwa Ibom state claimed to have rigged elections to have him substituted for the real winner of the senatorial seat, has accused the governor of “resurrecting” his hit squad and sending it after him.

The background is as follows:

Mr. Akpabio said at a televised event that he “struck off the name of the winner” for Mr. Etok.
Both me later denied the claim. But shortly after, the governor, who is now close to the president, announced that he will be taking over from Mr. Etok in 2015. Etok said the seat was not vacant, a remark that has apparently irked the governor.
