Quote from: papadip on 3-07-2013 11:21 PM It is not the right thing to do. Even if there's no job, no food, no water, no electric people should continue to wait (or die) till the mandate expire in 2017?Why topple a democratically elected government? No matter how imperfect. Let him serve his term and then the electorate can decide at the next elections. The next government will be a puppet of the military whenever that will be in the meantime it is back to dictatorship and that might not be a good thing for Egypt. I am not happy with the current federal government of Nigeria and at the same time would not support a coup. Ballots should always rule and not bullets. Nigeria is still paying the price for those coups. ![]() HAIL EGYPT U R A TRUE COUNTRY THANKS TO OUR CHRISTIANS BROTHERS & SISTERS WHO CAME OUT WITH THEIR WIVES & CHILDREN TO STOP THE DEVIL & CAST HIM OUT WITH HIS RUBBISH RELIGION ISLAM,,,,,,U HAVE SHOWN THE WORLD ALLAH IS UNDER UR CHRISTIANS FEET, ALLAH IS NOT GOD AND HE HAS NO POWER AT ALL,,,,,, U ALSO SHOWN 2 THE WORLD MOHAMAD MUST BE CURSED EVERYDAY...... It has been counterproductive in Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey, Germany, Greece, Spain, Argentina, Chile etc…. We’ve had so many coups in Nigeria which led to a civil war. By the way I am not a Muslim just to let you know. My point has nothing to do with religion. There is no need for you to invoke religion in this case which is one of our problems. Bashing any religion will always add more to the problems. He won a close majority and should be allowed to be judged at the ballots the next time around. A steady form of system will bring stability. Don’t forget this is the first time Egypt will ever experiment with democracy or free elections. In Nigeria we idolize these politicians (looters) based on tribes. We as ordinary citizens are also to blame for their failure. Finally I am not a fan of “Western Democracy”…it is just another import. We had our own democracy before the western styled government none the less it’s got to be the power of the people.

Quote from: escapedprince on 4-07-2013 01:55 AM To save the country from sliding further into chaos, it's good that he was ousted, Egyptians were united in their resolve to save their country from religious extremists and unfair capitalism that was tearing the once cohesive Egyptian societies apart, If Nigeria is to stand as one country , the Nigerian citizens and military should borrow a leaf from Egypt , The Egyptans has once again displayed that , they value the unity of their country above , Religion, tribe, and regional politics. !!!! Huummmm……..I don’t think they are as united given the reported news. I just hope this action by the army will not result into a civil war whereby innocents will suffer and die for nothing. Supporters of the deposed president will or may not just keep quiet. Unity........ that’s what we need in Nigeria and not the army…. It has not been a good experience as far as the army is concerned in my own opinion.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_presidential_election,_2012 This is the point I am making. I hope you’ll understand me. The army is telling 51% eligible voters (13 million Egyptians) their votes do not count anymore. That’s troubling….. The army should have worked things out with the parties concerned. This is the same army of Hosni Mubarak the former president.

Our problem is in-action due to lack of unity. We are seriously and tribally divided. Allowing the army to come in again will be a disaster….there’ll be coups upon coups and counter coups. That’s the military politics. Should the army take over again in Nigeria it might take another 20-30 years before we can smell democracy again.

the right thing to do in the right time, if not for military intervention in mali many would have loose their life like what happen in cote d'ivoire and presently in syria. Replyi don't support coup but when elected civilian abuse there power, the military should intervene when necessary and transit power to interim.

in Egypt,,,there is nothing like boko haram...so the case is not the same...the best thing in Nigeria is to let the Muslim go before they will kill everybody.....anyway,,,,for Naije,,,na only talk and talk we get,,,nobody is ready to come out,,unless na boko haram want to suck innocent blood......yeyeye nation with yeye people Reply

that is Egyptians view and understanding of their govt,in nigeria my country i think in anyway calling the coups back that ll be the worsted thing Nigerians ll allow, the 1st problem nigeria need to install is unity of all nigerians, love and sense of belonging, now the 3 recognize regions re not in good terms [HAUSA,YORUBA AND THE IGBO} BUT not withstanding we need to be praying and recognize our problem very well, wen hausa see igbo man problem don start be dat, likewise igbo and the yoruba, there is great dichotomy bt them,i still believe GOD that ll help us,only 1 person can change nigeria situation if GOD intervene.
