Earlier today, Gistmania posted that ASUP Exco were to Meet concerning the Strike Today.
Well the result of the meeting has led to the suspension of the ASUP Strike.
The ASUP Chairman, Dr. Chibuzor Asumogba, told Vanguard in a phone interview that the decision was made by the National Executive Committee of the Union as a result of the intervention of the Joint committee of the Senate and House of Representative on Education.
He said the union gave the government representatives one month to accede to their demands and release the white paper on the visitation panel to federal polytechnics.
The ASUP Chairman however, called on all lecturers to go back to work. "ll lecturers are to resume work at their various institutions today", He said.
This simply means that lectures are to begin immediately in all polytechnics in Nigeria. We, the GistMania Team however expect academic activities to begin as from 17th July, 2013.
