Not less than three key members of Yinka Ayefele’s band, The Merry Makers have defected and disappeared in the course of the band’s recently concluded tour of the United States.
The defection of the band boys has been officially confirmed. The defectors are Ojoyido Adegbenga Ezekiel (Keyboardist), Solomon Olugbenga Motimoke (Vocalist) and Olusola Kayode Isaac (vocalist).
The musician’s publicist, David Ajiboye stated in a release that the musician has urged the United States Homeland Security to track and deport the band members who defected at the tail-end of their six weeks tour. Ajiboye stated that “in a mail sent to the United States department of Homeland Security, Ayefele urged the department to look for the defectors and act accordingly so as to serve as a lesson to others.
While Olusola Kayode Isaac defected at the LaGuardiala Airport, New York on Monday, 14th October on his way from Houston with three other members of the band, Ojoyido Adegbenga defected at the band’s hotel at Howard Johnson Inn on Rockaway Boulevard, New York on Tuesday, 15th October while the last defector, Solomon Motimoke (Yatty) defected from the band while still at Washington DC on 11th October.” The remaining members of the band are back in Nigeria.

Guy, think before you talk (sorry, i mean write). Put yourself in his ( Ayefele's) shoes, you need to protect your name, image and career. The man did the best thing under the circumstancies. Mind you, he and his publicist just did that to protect themselves because they know that those defectors will not be caught, it's just to give him ( Ayefele) a clean hand so that when next he goes to their embassy to apply for visa with his band he will not be rejected for the sins of the past defectors shikena! "Abeg our head dey there make we dey use for reasoning no be for decoration"!!!

Ayefele only gets what he deserved, all his shows in the US this year were flops, fans and promoters have not forgotten or forgiven him for unprofessional conducts and dishonesty from last US tour of 5 years ago. Most of his shows were undersold or given for free this year to appease fans and past promoters who lost money due to his dishonest antics. The current promoter, FIESTA International tried to help him improve his image but he too fell victim to Ayefele's lies and dishonesty. Ayefele's boys did not trust him too, so good luck to the deserters and Ayefele should change his dishonest ways. Most promoters have sworn never to work with him again in the US and with the band boys desertion now, this maybe his last US tour ever, unless he repents and change his ways.

ayefele no be honest person, na real cunny cunny man, and he don make everyone mad against him in the US both fans and promoters. they never forget how he do them bad the last time he come here 5 years ago, this time they really show him sha, all his shows were flops even the ones whey he gave for free when ho find anyone to pay for his show and for those people pay na for little money. I just pity his current promoter Fiesta International who tried to help to rehabilitate him but in the end too he showed the man his true color say he no fit be trusted and in the end the promoter sack him too after he don do am bad with money. I am glad that his boys left him o. who no go abandon a sinking ship
