Having a child born in Britain does not automatically change her status from an illegal to a British citizen. This is what I understand. I may be wrong.
I understand in the USA it is different. This is why many Nigerians who can afford it, fly to the USA to give birth - it gives their their CHILD automatic citizenship.
And then later the parents can apply for USA citizenship through the child.
