Alabi resigned his position after pressure from the presidency in Abuja, this is according to Sahara Reporters.
It was disclosed that the Alabi-led executive was pressured by the party’s bigwigs in Abuja to hand over the resignation letter this morning.
Mass Defection Looms In Ondo As PDP Chairman Resigns
A source informed that the move was executed to collapse the party’s structure into the camp of the embattled Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
The party has been engulfed with crisis since Governor Mimiko joined the party from Labour Party.
The Governor bribed some executive members to have his way, another source informed.
“The Governor bribed some of the party executive with millions of money because he has been in Abuja since the beginning of this week.
He met with President Goodluck Jonathan where the deal was done that Alabi should resign from his position and they would compensate him,” the source added.
It was gathered that the party has immediately sworn in and inaugurated new state executive members in Abuja.

Meanwhile, political analysts are already speculating that some PDP members in Ondo State may start to decamp to the opposition parties as a result of the development.
It was reported last week that some members of thePDP in Ondo State who are seeking election into both the Senate and the House of Representatives threatened to leave the party because of Mimiko.
They said they would move to another party because Mimiko had devised means to scheme out those he met in the party after he defected from the Labour Party (LP).
