Serious chaos arose in the Ukala community of Delta State on Saturday, January 31, 2015 when a jilted and angry man, after being ditched by his girlfriend stormed the wedding venue of his ex-girlfriend, and reportedly shot the couple to death. He began the shooting spree by attacking the guests who were gathered to witness the event and celebrate with the couple, before eventually killing the bride’s mother in the shootout, Nigerian Monitor reports.
The bride’s jealous ex, who goes by the name “Teddy”, started the shooting spree after the couple’s first dance. The bride who was simply identified as Stephany, was a graduate of Office Management and Technology from one of the polytechnics in the state. Close sources say that Stephany told her ex-boyfriend that she was tired of their relationship which had lasted for eight years but did not lead to the altar. Other sources say that her intention was to have Teddy propose to marry her with immediate effect since they had both secured jobs, and should have the financial backing to start marriage together.
After receiving the news, Teddy reportedly began making plans to finally settle down with the late bride. However, things took a different turn when Stephany’s mother suddenly brought a United Kingdom-based businessman who arrived Nigeria in December 2014 and introduced him to Stephany. According to reports, the deceased bride’s mother told her daughter that the unnamed United Kingdom man needed a wife and Stephany who was so desperate to settle down at the time, welcomed the idea, which explains why she got married to the guy a month after they were introduced.
Stephany started planing for the wedding as soon as possible, unbeknownst to her the imminent dangers ahead. Unfortunately, the couple could not live to tell the story of their big wedding day as the bride’s angry ex-lover decided to nip the relationship in the bud by cutting their lives short halfway into their wedding ceremony. This is so sad!
