There were rumours earlier today about plans by the Federal Government to transfer some Boko Haram prisoners down to Onitsha and some parts of the state to serve their time.
Well , this didn't go down well with the people of Anambra state as they took to the streets this morning to protest the alleged plans as they were not in agreement with the alleged transfer.
There are reports that major markets in the state including the Onitsha main market were closed down.
A user ," michyme" who experienced the protest has this to say : I had a first hand experience myself , I boarded a bus going to onitsha from Asaba, when the bus got to the middle of the niger bridge all the vehicles in front weren't moving anymore we thought it was a traffic congestion. In less than 30 seconds some vehicles started reversing in a hurry while some passenger jumped down from buses they felt weren't fast enough in reversing.People were running back to asaba the next thing I saw were some people carrying posters with an inscription that says " Buhari save Anambra state" I guess they were going to block the bridge, finally the bus I boarded succeeded in turning back to asaba it wasn't a pleasant experience at all. I hope no live would be lost.

What’s the big deal? …even then this could be internet manufactured news. The fact is a federal prisoner can be transferred to any part of the country.

I disagree with u on this one. You know the tension bw people of that side and our people and now you are transferring prisoners from there to the east. Some of the people in that crowd said they lost their family members to these boko haram. So how do you expect them to feel about this one. Off all places to transfer them, it's the east? Again this is no Internet news, it came from feelers from powers to be in Abuja.

You are wrong and don’t discriminate….. You have Muslims in eastern region as well regardless of their population. More over it was a rumor.
