Shame on African leaders. This has NOTHING to do with any slave trade.

I can understand the Syrians and others from war zones but Sudan (which has a large amount of illegals trying to get to Europe) has always been a poor improvished country despite aid flowing in from around the world. Those trying to get into Europe illegally are not poor (they paid the people smugglers as much as $2000). They know they will never be given a visa through the right channel and so they take their chances and ty thr illegal route. They have been failed by their countries of origin.

If we are so wound up about the slave trade we should boycott the countries we blame for THE SLAVE TRADE and not be rushing to the USA and Britain to ADD TO THEIR ECONOMIC GROWTH whilst keeping Africa poorer and poorer and poorer. After all every Nigerian wants to be an American. If its not through the American Visa Lottery its women going their to give birth.  Thousands of Nigerians rush for British citizenship every year. It has nothing to do with REVENGE FOR THE SLAVE TRADE, We have failed ourselves.

I don't see the African Americans or people of the Carribean rushng to return to Arica en masse.
