In Ghana, a popular fisherman who died in a village called, Oshei, was buried in a fish casket. Assumed to be a symbolic gesture, the fisherman may have been buried in a fish shaped casket as a pointer to what was his occupation while he was alive.
The casket was a creative work of art, with gold finishing. Due to the unusual shape, the casket was tied shut with a rope while it was hauled up in the air.
Pretty unusual for a burial but very creative.
