Who doesn’t love Nollywood? The Nigerian film industry (aka Nollywood) has grown in leaps and bounds since its inception. It’s the third largest film industry in the world.
While the glamour of the AMVCAs is starting to fade, let’s wax nostalgic for a bit and remember our favourite actresses and actors back in the day:
1. Saint Obi Saint Obi is another actor we haven’t seen in ages on our screens. Remember movies like Sakobi, Take Me to Mama? We miss this actor and producer.
2. Regina Askia Beautiful Regina Askia was a beauty queen who made it big in Nollywood. She featured in films like The President’s daughter, Most Wanted, Queen of the Night etc.
3. Ernest Asuzu Another veteran we haven’t seen in years. He’s very famous for his gangster roles. He starred in Another Campus Queen, Rituals etc.
4. Sandra Achums I remember OutKast fondly. I wonder why we never see Sandra Achums in Nollywood anymore.
5. Liz Benson Liz Benson is another actress we were more than happy to see in Nollywood after a long time. Her role in the 2014 film, Dry was a welcome sight. We loved Liz Benson in Diamond Ring (1&2) as well as Witches.
6. Ernest Obi Another actor we haven’t seen recently. I wonder what he’s been up to recently. Remember Love Crime?
7. Rita Nzelu Rita Nzelu shot to fame with her role of Tina in Living in Bondage. This actress has starred in many Nollywood films, both comedy and romance.
8. Pat Attah Pat Attah was our heartthrob years ago. The actor featured in films like Extreme Measures, Jealous Lovers and more.
9. Hilda Dokubo Who hasn’t cried while watching this beautiful actress. Hilda Dokubo is one actress that can reduce the heartless to tears with her movie roles. Above Death, Black Maria and Stigma are some of her films.
10. Grace Amah Another actress we absolutely loved back then. River of tears, Can’t Let go (1&2) are some of her films.
Which one do you miss most & Who else do you miss seeing in Nollywood?
