New video evidence has emerged, confirming that Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, indeed said Nigeria’s current economic recession is just “a word”
Kemi Adeosun has been under fire following accusations that she made the comment, an accusation Adeosun has denied.
However, a video evidence shows Kemi Adeosun made a similar remark at an earlier event, although with a slightly different context.
Kemi Adeosun spoke at a town hall meeting organised by the Alumni Association of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies on August 9, 2016.
The minister attempted to allay the fears of Nigerians about the recession at the time.
Quote
“I know people are concerned about recession. Recession is a word,” Mrs. Adeosun said.
“We can come out of recession. We can make sure it’s as short as possible by sticking to the prescription which is we must be disciplined with our expenditure, we must invest in capital and we must diversify our economy.”
simple analysis and explanation of the true state of the economy....no gimmicks , no flamboyancy. knowing what is wrong, is the first step of curing an illness.

Perhaps if one is in the same frame of mind with Kemi)(Linguistically), the Lady is very much right in saying Recession is just a Word. The emphasis is on the current situation as it affects Nigeria, she is in the best position to know how the Country can easily come out of Recession, she has all the facts for that.
